Sète Trip & Oyster Tasting
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Place de l'Europe and, from this point in Montpellier, we'll travel to Sète, a town in the Occitania region located between the Étang de Thau and the Mediterranean coast. It's considered one of the most beautiful towns in the south of France!
Upon arrival at our destination, we'll take a guided tour of Sète. Throughout the tour, we'll walk through the seaside district of La Pointe Courte, whose fishermen's houses still maintain the traditional atmosphere of yesteryear. We'll then continue our tour passing by other emblematic points of the city, such as the Canal Royal or Parc Simone Veil.
After visiting Sète, we'll go to Étang de Thau, one of the main lakes in the south of France. Here we'll visit an oyster farm, where an oyster farmer who has been involved in this activity for generations will explain how oysters and other shellfish are cultivated in this place, which has optimal conditions for their development.
Of course, we'll end the visit to the farm with a tasting of oysters, which have a meaty texture and, at the same time, have a mild and salty taste, which is enhanced with a few drops of lemon or vinegar with tarragon. You'll love them!
After this exquisite gastronomic experience, we'll head back to the meeting point in Montpellier, where we'll conclude this 4-hour excursion.
