We'll meet at 9 am at the Mosson tram station in Montpellier and travel by minibus to Hérault. There you'll find Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in the region.
Before visiting this beautiful village in Occitania, we'll take a tour of the surrounding area. We'll first visit a pottery workshop and then stop at a nearby viewpoint to admire the spectacular gorges of this beautiful area in the south of France.
The excursion will continue to Salagou lake. Here, you'll have time to have lunch while admiring the majestic Hérault valley. The next stop will be at the Pont du Diable: a colossal stone footbridge that was built in the Middle Ages and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.
After seeing the bridge, we'll take a guided tour of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, one of the most beautiful villages in France. We'll also learn about the history of its most outstanding monument, the Gellone Abbey, which forms part of the French Way of St. James.
At 5 pm, we'll return to the starting point in Montpellier.
