Buenos Aires Transport: Bus + Ferry
Your adventure to Buenos Aires will begin at the Tres Cruces station, where you'll hop on a bus at your chosen time to Colonia del Sacramento.
After a 3-hour drive, you'll arrive at the dock of Colonia del Sacramento in western Uruguay. You'll then board the ferry to Buenos Aires, which will take you through the River Plate on a 1-hour 15-minute journey.
Once the boat has docked at the Puerto Madero, you'll disembark and explore the city at your leisure.
You can stay in the Argentinean capital or, if you prefer, you have the option of booking the ticket that includes transport back to Montevideo. In that case, you'll travel from the port of Buenos Aires by ferry to Colonia del Sacramento and then take the bus back to the Uruguayan capital.
Keep in mind that you can return to Uruguay the same day or up to 90 days after your outbound journey.
Schedule
- Departures from the bus station in Montevideo: 5 am, 7 am, 1 pm, 2:30 pm and 4:45 pm.
- Departures from the Buenos Aires ferry terminal: 8:30 am, 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, 6:30 pm and 8 pm.
The timetables and connections between boats and buses are predetermined, therefore, they cannot be modified.
