El Tigre Waterfalls Hike
Tour Options
When booking, you'll have the choice of two options. Both include hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, an admission ticket to El Tigre Waterfalls, and lunch. Both are also 5 hours long. Here are the available options:
Hiking & Horseriding
Once we arrive at El Tigre Waterfalls, we'll put on our hiking boots and begin a hiking trail along the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Ready to explore this location filled with dense vegetation and refreshing waterfalls? Let's go!
Throughout the first 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) we'll cross several hanging bridges hidden amongst lush trees and hills. We'll also stop at 4 waterfalls that are 15 to 30 metres high (50-98 feet), where you'll be able to take a well-deserved dip in the natural pools. What a treat!
After this, we'll get on the horses that will take us up the final 3 kilometres (1.8 miles) to the summit. Enjoying a pleasant horseback ride, surrounded by the densely forested landscape, we'll reach a viewpoint that has scenic views of the surrounding volcanoes: Arenal, Rincón de la Vieja, Tenorio and Miravalles. Don't forget to bring your cameras!
Hiking & Horseriding + Bicycle Zipline
If you choose this option, we'll do the same hike and horse ride as described in the previous option and, once we've finished this tour, we'll make our way to El Tigre Waterfalls Bicycle Zipline. Riding a bicycle through the sky will feel like a movie scene!
We'll put on all the zipline equipment and climb up onto the platform where a bicycle awaits us. Up here, we'll begin to pedal while the bike moves along the zipline cables over 70 metres high (230 feet). You'll have incredible views of the cloudy forest and waterfalls along this 500-metre (0.3-mile) ride.
