Lucca and Pisa are two of the most visited destinations in Tuscany. Get to know both cities in one day with this excursion dripping with history.
Lucca and Pisa Day Trip Itinerary
Having picked you up at the meeting point we'll leave by bus to Pisa, one of the best known destinations in Italy. When we arrive we'll begin a guided tour of the historic centre.
We'll pass through the Piazza dei Miracoli, and see some of its most important monuments, such as St. John's Baptistry, the cemetery, the Cathedral and of course its famous leaning tower. You can take that famous photo as though you were holding it up! Then we'll give you free time to explore the streets of Pisa or climb the tower itself.
Then we'll climb back on board the bus to head to Lucca, known for the medieval wall which still remains completely intact, as well as much of its historic centre. Did you know that this town was an independent republic for 50 years? And we'll also take a guided tour of the Amphitheatre Square, the Giunigi Tower and the San Martino Cathedral.
Then before heading back to Montecatini, we'll try the famous Buccellato, a typical sweet treat from Lucca made from an almond-filled dough.
