When booking, you can choose between 2 different options. Both include pickup at your hotel in Montalegre at 9 am, an English-speaking guide, and return transfer:
Tour of Chaves, Boticas, & Montalegre
Ready to tour Trás-os-Montes? This northeastern region of Portugal will surprise you from beginning to end. If you opt for this option, we'll first visit Montalegre, which stands out for its impressive 12th-century castle located on the top of the hill. Then in the Ecomuseum of Montalegre, we'll learn about the history and heritage of this beautiful municipality.
The next stop will be at Boticas, a picturesque village with quaint stone houses and a Rural Museum, where we'll see different types of old agricultural tools. Here, you'll have an hour of free time to enjoy lunch in one of the traditional eateries (not included).
The last stop is in the town of Chaves, where we'll admire its impressive medieval fortress, declared a National Monument. We'll also pass by the Roman bridge of Trajano and the Chaves hot springs before returning to Montalegre.
Tour of Chaves, Valpaços, & Vila Pouca de Aguiar
This option will allow you to get to know Chaves, as in the previous tour, in addition to other emblematic places of Trás-os-Montes.
We'll discover the highlights of Vila Pouca de Aguiar and visit the Parque de Pedras Salgadas, a wooded area with stones of various shapes. We'll also visit Valpaços, which has a Wine Museum where we'll learn about the winemaking tradition of this town. You decide which areas you want to visit!
