Japanese Calligraphy Workshop
Japanese Calligraphy Workshop
Japanese calligraphy is a form of artistic writing dating back to the 6th century. To discover the art, we'll meet at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, located in a 300-year-old Zen temple.
Once inside the center, we'll begin the class by choosing our brush, made of bamboo cane, and dip its tip in black ink. Then we'll choose which writing system we want to use: kana or kanji. You'll find out all there is to know about the art form.
For half an hour, you'll learn to write your name with Japanese letters in a unique and calming environment. You'll be sure to enjoy the unforgettable experience.
We'll finish the workshop at approximately 30 minutes later.
Rent a kimono
You also have the option to rent a traditional Japanese kimono while participating in the calligraphy workshop. We'll meet up at the indicated time, and you'll have 30 minutes to choose your outfit and get ready before the class.
