Description
Day 1
At 2 pm, we'll welcome you at the Hotel Pantanal, where we'll spend our first night. After checking in, you'll have the rest of the evening free to relax before our immersive experience begins the next day, as we follow the daily routine of the local farmers. Ready to connect with the stunning countryside?
Day 2
The following day, we'll have an early breakfast at the hotel, around 7:30 am, and then make our way towards the farm. Once there, we'll enjoy a delicious breakfast. We'll enjoy some amazing coffee, milk, cakes and cheesy bread made in a wood-burning oven, inside a termite mound. Incredible, right?
Then, we'll learn about the history of the farm, which was a pottery and an important brick factory, with a visit to the Agachi museum.
Next, we'll meet the horses that will join us over the course of this tour. Before departing, we'll watch a short cultural presentation and then begin our tour of the Bacuris Trails. On our hike, we'll make a stop on the banks of the Açude do Jacaré to rest, and of course, to try the famous tereré, a drink made from yerba mate and ice water that the Pantanal people drink every day.
We'll also make a stop for a real Pantanal-style lunch, which will include carreteiro rice, beans, salad, fried eggs, fish, juices and pasta. After eating, you'll have time to enjoy a short nap.
Afterwards, we'll go in search of some cattle to herd through the countryside and learn about the important role of workers in this area. Once we've finished the tour, we'll be taught various techniques about how to care for the horses, such as how to unhitch them, wash them and feed them.
After this arduous job, we'll take a break to enjoy some refreshments, and then, we'll begin setting up our camp where we'll spend the night. Once night has fallen, we'll make a Roda de Viola and enjoy a stunning Pantanal roast. A traditional experience!
Day 3
On the last day of our tour, we'll get up very early, around 5 am, and make our way towards the farm to see how the cows are milked. Afterwards, we'll delight in a Quebra Torto, a traditional dish consisting of rice, fried eggs and coffee.
Then, we'll attend a presentation where we'll learn about items such as the drum and the long bow, typical to this region. Following on, we'll ride on horseback along a trail to discover the different sights and smells of Pantanal. Finally, we'll enjoy a tour in a truck-drawn cart, where we'll admire the flora and fauna of Pantanal.
Lastly, we'll enjoy a delicious fish-based lunch. Afterwards, between 4 pm and 4:30 pm, we'll say our goodbyes after a wonderful 3-day experience in Pantanal. Until next time!
