Visit the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands & two of its most famous islands on this day trip to Stromboli and Panarea. You'll enjoy the tranquility of their fishing villages and witness a magical spectacle of nature: see a volcano erupting!
Day Trip Details
At the appointed time we'll meet on Via Ammiraglio Luigi Rizzo. From here, we'll go to the pier and board a boat that'll take us to the island of Panarea.
Cruising across the Tyrrhenian Sea, we'll make our way to this island, the second smallest of the Aeolian archipelago. As we get closer, you'll be able to see the great beauty of one of its most emblematic beaches, Cala Junco. Did you know that here lie the remains of an ancient settlement dating back to the 14th century BC?
We'll disembark at the fishing port and leave you 2.5 hours of free time to stroll around and enjoy the rich local gastronomy. Then, we'll return to the boat and head north towards Stromboli, admiring views of the island's great volcano and islets like Basiluzzo, Lisca Bianca, Lisca Nera and Bottaro along the way.
Once in Stromboli, we'll leave you another 2 hours free to visit this beautiful village. You can stroll through the charming streets of its seaside neighborhood and check out its churches and chapels. If you head to Piazza San Vincenzo, you'll discover a viewpoint with a unique view of Stromboli and the nearby islet of Strombolicchio.
Finally, we'll return to the boat and start the return trip, stopping for about 40 minutes at sea to enjoy a unique natural spectacle: the active eruption of the Stromboli volcano. A truly amazing sight at nightfall!
We'll end the day trip with our arrival back at the port of Milazzo after about 10 hours of sightseeing.
Important Info
If Stromboli is in a red zone due to a volcanic activity alert, and it is forbidden to disembark on the island, we'll adapt the day trip to ensure your safety. In this case, we'll make a longer stop at Panarea and then sail to Stromboli for a panoramic tour from the sea. During this part of the tour, we'll admire the majestic Strombolicchio and the impressive Sciara del Fuoco.
