Parma Day Trip + Parmesan Factory Tour

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the Piazza IV Novembre at the designated time to leave Milan behind and start our day trip to Parma. Let's go!

Our first stop will be at an authentic Parmesan cheese factory, where the king of Italian cheeses is made. Here, you'll have the opportunity to see the whole process, from the cows that provide the milk to the final stages of production of this treat.

We'll explain the traditional methods, passed down for generations, that guarantee the quality and authenticity of Parmesan. Our tour will end with a tasting, where you'll enjoy this cheese's unmistakable flavor and discover the differences between the varieties, which depend on its maturation time. It'll be a real feast for the senses!

Our adventure will continue toward a cozy Italian tavern dedicated to Culatello di Zibello, one of Italy's most beloved cured meats. Here, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch including a selection of local cured meats, freshly baked bread, and a glass of local wine that will enhance the flavors.

We'll then explore the aging cellar of the Culatello, located in a 17th-century palace. This underground space, with its dark and humid ambiance, is the perfect place to conserve and age this product.

After lunch, the bus will take us to the historic city of Parma, famous worldwide for its cuisine. You'll have at least 1 hour of free time to explore its elegant center. Among the main attractions, you can visit the Parma Cathedral and the Baptistery of Parma, considered masterpieces of Romanesque art, and the Teatro Regio, or simply stroll along its commercial streets.

Finally, we'll begin our journey back to the meeting point in Milan, where we'll conclude this day trip 13 hours later.
