Monza & Royal Gardens Tour
Monza & Royal Gardens Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the central train station, where the bus will be waiting to take us from Milan to Monza. Did you know that it's the third-largest city in the Lombardy region?
In about 30 minutes, we'll arrive in Monza, a city that will dazzle us with its charm and rich history. We'll walk through the main streets of the historic center admiring its Gothic cathedral, the old town hall or Arengario, and the elegant Bridge of Lions.
After discovering the great attractions of Monza, we'll get back on the bus to go to the Reggia or Royal Villa of Monza, a palace that served as a residence for kings and emperors. Here, we'll tour the Royal Gardens, a place of incomparable beauty with a great variety of trees and other plants.
As we explore the gardens, we'll learn about the origins of this complex, which date back to the court of Archduke Ferdinand of Habsburg, son of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. The governor and his wife, Beatrice d'Este, made it a meeting place for the Lombard aristocracy of the 17th century.
After this journey into a world of grandeur and wealth, we'll return to Milan, arriving after a total of 6.5 hours of touring.
