First up, we'll visit the Bay of Pigs Monument in the city center. We'll stop here to learn about the 1,300 soldiers who gave their lives in an effort to free Cuba from dictatorial rule in 1963.
Next up, we'll walk over to the Ball & Chain bar, with roots dating all the way back to the 1930s. This historic club is one of the most visited in Miami and still hosts music events. It's also known for having some of the freshest mojitos in town!
From here, we'll head to the Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center. Owned by a Cuban art collector and historian, this cultural hub showcases incredible Cuban art and boasts one of the largest collections of rum in Florida.
Moving on from here, we'll stop to enjoy an authentic Cuban coffee paired with a pastelito, a traditional Cuban sandwich made of toasted guava and cheese. Yum! What's more, we'll also sample guarapo, a typical drink made from sugarcane juice.
Continuing our route, we'll arrive at a Cuban cigar shop to learn about the cigar-making process, a cornerstone of Cuban culture. We'll see how they are rolled and boxed and learn about what makes a good cigar. Then, we'll head to Domino Park, Miami's premier destination for playing dominoes, where the locals come to show their skills.
Lastly, we'll walk by the Tower Theater, one of Miami's oldest cultural landmarks that opened in 1926. We'll discuss the historical significance of this building as we make our way back to the starting point, where we'll bring our experience to an end after 2 hours.
