Tlatelolco + La Lagunilla Market Guided Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco. From there, we'll walk towards the archaeological area of Tlatelolco, a place famous for its role in the indigenous resistance and its relevance in Mexico's history.
We'll start our guided visit by walking through the remains of the last city to be conquered by the Spanish in 1521. We'll stroll through the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, where the pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern past intertwine, as we talk to you about the customs of the ancient Aztecs, as well as the impact of the arrival of the conquistadors.
Next, we'll move on to the La Lagunilla Market, a traditional market that comes alive on Sundays with an energetic atmosphere. We'll walk among the colourful stalls where you can find almost anything: antiques, clothes, toys and other random things that will surprise you.
But that's not all, because Mexican cuisine will also be one of the main protagonists of this experience. You'll have the opportunity to try typical delicacies such as sopes, quesadillas, tacos and even chapulines, while enjoying a good pulque or a craft beer—a delight for the senses!
Finally, after 2.5 to 3 hours, we'll finish the tour.
