Teotihuacán Hot Air-Balloon Ride + Basilica of Guadalupe
Day Trip Details
Are you ready for an immersive experience both in the air and on land? At the indicated time, we'll meet next to the Citibanamex at the Angel of Independence monument and begin a day trip that's perfect for discovering some of Mexico City's most outstanding tourist attractions.
To begin, we'll head to the Teotihuacan Archaeological Site, where our first activity of the day will take place. How does a hot-air balloon ride at sunrise sound? Upon arrival at the take-off area, we'll see the process of inflating the balloon and, after telling you some safety rules, we'll hop into the basket and begin this flight over the legendary "City of Gods".
During a 30-minute flight, we'll soar across the skies of Teotihuacan and enjoy unforgettable views of the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon lit up by the first rays of sun. A moment you'll never forget!
After landing, we'll give you a flight certificate and celebrate with a glass of sparkling wine, and we'll take you to a nearby restaurant to refuel with a buffet-style breakfast. Afterwards, we'll head to an artisan workshop to learn about the use of obsidian and the importance of agave.
We'll delve into Teotihuacan customs as we see how the famous agave syrup is fermented and how volcanic stone is transformed into precious pieces of art. We'll also have a tasting of tequila and other traditional drinks.
For our next stop, we'll head to the archaeological site to see the ruins of Teotihuacan up close. We'll have a 3-hour guided tour, learning about and taking in the details of important sites such as the Avenue of the Dead, the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the various pyramids of the complex.
After exploring Teotihuacan, you'll have free time for lunch. Feeling refuelled, we'll head to the Basilica of Guadalupe, located on the hill of Tepeyac. Did you know that it's the most revered temple in Mexico City?
Once there, we'll take a tour to learn all about this religious complex, where the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared to the indigenous Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin in the mid-16th century. We'll visit the Expiatory Temple of Christ the King, the New Basilica of Guadalupe and the Chapel of Pocito.
Finally, after this day full of adventure, history and culture, we'll return to the starting point and say goodbye 11 hours later.
