Real del Monte and Basaltic Prisms Tour
Real del Monte and Basaltic Prisms Tour
At 7:40 am, we'll meet outside the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel and leave Mexico City behind as we set off to the Basaltic Prisms.
When we get there, we'll see these fascinating hexagonal formations that can reach 30 metres in height. As if this wasn't enough, the landscape is completed by four impressive waterfalls that are fed by the San Antonio dam - a unique sight!
Our next stop will be the first Magic Town in the state of Hidalgo: Huasca de Ocampo. There we'll be able to investigate its beautiful colonial constructions, the exhausted ones and get to know the legends of the goblins. We'll have the opportunity to see the best views of the area by stopping at the Peña del Aire viewpoint.
We'll continue the tour until we reach the Bosque de las Truchas water park, where you'll be able to do some of the activities offered by the locals on your own.
Then we'll travel to Real del Monte, where we'll go on a walking tour. Next, we'll visit the Museum of the Paste of Mineral del Monte. Did you know that this paste is a symbol of the gastronomy of Hidalgo? Let's try some!
Finally, you'll have free time for lunch and we'll be on our way back. We will make a brief stop in a traditional "rompopera" so that, if you wish, you can taste a delicious eggnog or "rompón".
We'll return to the departure point in Mexico City and arrive back there at around 5:30 pm.
