Pico del Aguila Trek

At 7 am, we'll meet at the corner of Av. Vicente Suarez with Av. Michoacán. After introductions, we'll head to the highest point in Mexico City, the Pico del Aguila on the Ajusco volcano. Let's go!

We'll travel along the road up Ajusco until we reach the Albergue Alpino, where the trekking route to Pico del Aguila will begin. We'll walk through a lush forest and ascend the well-known Espinazo del Diablo (Devil's Backbone), from where we'll have spectacular views of Mexico City.

Our hike will continue on a slope of more than 30 degrees. Then, we'll finally reach the Pico del Aguila, located at 12,795 ft (3,900 m)! At these heights, you can appreciate the stunning scenery of the Ajusco volcano and its surroundings.

After a short break, we'll continue to ascend until we reach the Cruz del Marqués, at 12,893 ft (3,930 m) above sea level. From here you can admire the Nevado de Toluca, the Cerro de San Miguel, the Iztaccíhuatcl, and the Popocatépetl volcano!

During the hike, you'll also have a chance to refuel with a picnic, included in the tour. The menu usually consists of a sandwich, fruit, peanuts, chocolate, water, and a cereal bar.

Then, we'll head back to the starting point of the hike and return to the meeting point in Mexico City, where we'll end the trekking experience 14 and a half after departure.
