Mexico City Food Tour
Mexico City Food Tour
The tour meets at the main entrance to the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City at 1:20 pm, ready to dive into the world of Mexican food!
First off we'll take the subway to Jamaica Market, where endless colorful stalls and unusual smells are waiting for us! We'll explore the corridors of this warehouse inaugurated in the 50s while we weave among dozens of kiosks full of flowers, nuts, vegetables, sweet treats, piñatas and surprises aplenty. Here is where you can find top quality traditional kitchen utensils, or maybe some products to take home as a souvenir!
Next, the tour indulges in a tasting of exotic fruits such as carambola, mamey or chicozapote, accompanied by cheese and mole. Delicious! Your tour guide all the while will explain how to eat and prepare these delicacies as the Mexicans do, so you'll enjoy total cultural immersion!
Next, you'll learn about the properties of healing plants and all about the local alternative medicine popular in the capital, as well as to know the meaning of a variety of flowers: many of which have edible varieties.
At 5:30 pm the Mexico City food tour comes to an end.
