Frida Kahlo Tour
Frida Kahlo Tour
We'll begin this Frida Kahlo tour of Mexico City at the indicated time in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
From Plaza del Zócalo, we'll stroll through the historic center of Mexico City to the Ministry of Public Education. Here, we'll see murals and other iconic works painted by Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo's husband. We'll learn many details about his life and then visit the old San Ildefonso School.
Next, we'll tour Alameda Central, one of the oldest public gardens in the Americas. Afterwards, we'll go to a local restaurant to enjoy an exquisite lunch consisting of different delicacies of Oaxacan gastronomy.
After lunch, we'll travel to Coyoacán, the neighborhood where Kahlo and Rivera lived. Did you know that the couple had a close relationship with exiles from the USSR? We'll discover this link by visiting the House-Museum of Leon Trotsky.
The next stop will take place at the Frida Kahlo Museum located in the emblematic Casa Azul. In this house, where the artist and her husband lived from 1929 to 1954, we'll learn about the life and work of this famous couple of Mexican painters.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes at the Frida Kahlo Museum after 7-8 hours of touring.
