Join us for a tour of two of the most enchanting towns in the state of Puebla on this excursion to Atlixco and Chipilo - you won't regret it!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll leave from 70 Calle Florencia on the corner of Liverpool toward the first stop on our day trip, Chipilo. Here, we'll delve into the story of this town, and it's fascinating ties to Italy.

After a 2-hour drive, we'll arrive at our destination and take a guided tour of this village where they still use a dialect originating from the north of Italy! Other customs and traditions from Italian immigrants also remain, and if you like cheese, you're in luck! Another interesting aspect of this town is that, unlike most communities in Mexico, there is no main square or market in Chipilo. What you'll find is a church, the Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepción, built with very simple architecture.

We'll then make our way to the second stop of this day trip. Atlixco is famous for its gastronomy, landscape and architecture and is also recognised as the most significant centre of agricultural and flower production in the country. When we arrive at the historic centre, you'll have free time to grab yourself some lunch and walk around the town and enjoy the view of the Popocatepetl volcano.

While you're here, we also recommend that you delve into the rich history of Atlixco by visiting some of its fascinating landmarks. Discover the grandeur of the Municipal Palace, explore the stunning Parish of Atlixco, uncover the secrets of the Third Order Chapel, and step back in time at the captivating former convent of San Francisco!

Finally, we'll return to the starting point in Mexico City, where we'll arrive around 14 hours after the start of the tour.
