On this excursion to Cuernavaca and the Xochicalco Archaeological Site, we'll see one of the most important yet least-known archaeological sites in Mexico and the famous Cathedral of Cuernavaca!

Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site Tour

At 8 am we'll pick you up at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel and head to Xochicalco, a real hidden gem in the state of Morelos. Are you ready to travel back in time? Let's go!

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Xochicalco Archaeological Site is a perfect example of the Mesoamerican Epiclassic era, characterized by the emergence of cities in central Mexico after the decline of the Teotihuacan city. Although not as famous as the ruins of Chichen Itza or Tulum, Xochicalco is also well worth a visit with its impressive pyramids and plazas.

In addition to exploring the archaeological site, we'll enter the Site Museum of Xochicalco to learn all about the Mayan culture. After touring the ruins, we'll head to Cuernavaca and explore this emblematic colonial city. Here, we'll visit the 16th-century Franciscan cathedral – one of the oldest on the continent!

Following the tour of the cathedral of Cuernavaca, you'll have 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we'll take you back to the meeting point in Mexico City, arriving around 6 pm.
