Excursion to Cuernavaca & Tepoztlán
Excursion to Cuernavaca & Tepoztlán
At 8 am we'll pick you up at your hotel Sheraton María Isabel and hop on a minibus to drive to the state of Morelos, specifically to its capital, Cuernavaca.
Following an hour and a half drive, we'll reach the town and take a guided tour of the Cuernavaca Cathedral – one of the oldest in the country! We'll admire its colonial architecture from the 16th century, as well as the frescoes, which reflect the characteristic style of the Franciscan order.
Once we've finished touring the Cuernavaca Cathedral, we'll return to the minibus and head to the Magical Town of Tepoztlán. Nestled between mountains, this picturesque town is sure to steal your heart! We'll explore its quaint streets and unveil all the legends it harbors while admiring the beautiful scenery of the mountains.
Did you know that Tepoztlán is said to be the birthplace of Quetzalcoatl, the god of the Aztecs? We'll learn about this and other fascinating stories as we explore the Tepozteco Archaeological Site! To complete the tour of Tepoztlán, we'll visit its market and the old Dominican Convent of the Nativity.
After the guided tour, we'll leave you 2 hours of free time to have some delicious Mexican food in a local restaurant and continue discovering the magic of Tepoztlán.
Finally, we'll meet again and return to the starting point, arriving around 6 pm.
