Basilica of Guadalupe Free Tour
We'll meet up at the scheduled time under the statue of Juan Pablo II, located by the entrance of the Basilica of Guadalupe. Let's get our free tour started!
We'll start the tour by admiring this religious complex, located at the foot of Tepeyac Hill. According to legend, it was in this place where the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared to an Indigenous man named Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin in the middle of the 16th century.
As we'll see, the sacred precinct is composed of the Expiatory Temple to Christ the King, the New Basilica of Guadalupe and the Pocito Chapel, among other outstanding religious monuments whose façades we'll admire throughout the tour.
The most awaited moment will come when we enter the New Basilica, where we'll discover why the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe has such a special meaning for Mexicans and believers from all over the world.
After we've spent between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours exploring the Basilica, we'll finish our free tour in the area around the meeting point.
