Uxmal Light & Sound Show
Uxmal Light & Sound Show
After picking you up at your hotel in Mérida at the indicated time, we'll head south. After a one-hour drive, we'll arrive at Uxmal, one of the most important archaeological sites of the Maya civilization.
We'll begin a guided tour of the monuments of Uxmal, considered to be the site that's most representative of the Puuc architectural style. We'll admire the imposing Pyramid of the Magician while we listen to the legend that explains its construction.
During the tour, we'll visit other important structures of the city, such as the Governor's Palace, the House of the Pigeons, and the Nunnery Quadrangle. As we walk along the stone walkways that connect the buildings, you'll have plenty of opportunities to take incredible photos of this site that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.
At the end of the visit to Uxmal, we'll have an a la carte dinner in a local restaurant where you'll be able to taste typical Yucatán dishes such as meat, fish, rice, and tortillas. Bon appetit!
To put the finishing touch on an already magical evening in Uxmal, we'll enjoy an amazing light and sound show at sunset, with projections on the different monuments. Did you know that this show was one of the first of its kind in Mexico? In addition to the lights, it features the narration of stories, traditions, beliefs, and how this amazing city met its end - a truly unique experience!
After the show, the activity will end back at your hotel in Mérida.
