Uxmal & Choco-Story Museum Tour
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Merida and drive south to Uxmal, one of the main Mayan archaeological sites in the Yucatan Peninsula.
Once we arrive at this archaeological complex, declared a World Heritage Site, we'll start our guided tour of the entire monumental complex. One of its major highlights is the colossal Pyramid of the Soothsayer. Wondering why it's called that? Well, we'll find out on the day of the tour!
The tour will continue by visiting other important vestiges of the site such as the Quadrangle of the Nuns or the Governor's Palace. We'll also visit the ancient ball game field to discover what this pre-Columbian sport was all about.
After learning more about Uxmal, the tour will continue to the Choco-Story Museum. Its interactive exhibition will allow us to delve into the history of cocoa and the different products made from this delicious product. The museum's collection is arranged in six rooms shaped like traditional Mayan houses, and in each of them, we'll discover interesting chocolate-related facts.
Following the visit to the Choco-Story Museum, we'll go to a restaurant in the Uxmal area. Here we'll enjoy delicious lunch consisting of a traditional Yucatecan dish, with several options available.
Lastly, we'll return to your hotel in Merida, arriving at 5 pm.
