Puuc Route through Yucatan Tour
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Mérida to begin our trip along the famous and mysterious Puuc Route. Did you know the word "Puuc" means mountain or hill? On this tour, we'll explore the archaeological jewels of the Maya civilization in the Yucateca region. Let's go!
The first stop will be at Labná, an ancient Maya city famous for its beautiful stone carvings. We'll travel to Kabah, Sayil, and Xlapak, three archaeological sites that are also part of the Puuc Route. At each of these sites, we'll explain the details of their structures and learn more about Maya architecture and its symbolism.
We'll continue our tour in the majestic city of Uxmal, one of the most important Maya archaeological vestiges in Mexico. There, we'll be able to admire the imposing Soothsayer's Pyramid, the Governor's Palace, and other impressive constructions that will help us to understand the rich history of this ancient civilization.
Hungry yet? Halfway through the tour, we'll make a short stop to enjoy a Yucateca lunch in a local restaurant. After we've eaten, we'll return to Mérida, where the trip will end.
Keep in Mind
The availability of visits to the archaeological sites depends on the opening hours of these sites. Please be aware that the guide won't go into the archaeological sites with you.
