Mexican Food Tour
Mexican Food Tour of Mérida
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Letras de Mérida to start this tasty tour!
First, we'll make a stop in Gorditas Doña Gorda a place where, as its name indicates, we can tickle the tastebuds with an authentic Mexican gordita. What are they? Closed tortillas that we will fill with pork rinds, beans or whatever ingredients appeal most! Then it's on to Eulogio Rosado Park, where we will enjoy tasting an authentic poc chuc. This typical dish is made with sour orange marinated pork, as delicious as it is different!
The route continues on to the San Benito market for some refreshing local fruits such as huaya, nance or guanábana. There we will also pamper the palate with some traditional tamales covered with a vegetable leaf. Traditional Mexican style!
Then it's on to Lucas de Galvez market to try pork "carnitas" seasoned with herbs and spices. And, of course, no food tour could be complete without trying some delicious tacos al pastor, the best-known tacos in the country.
We will put the finishing touch to the route by tasting some fruity ice creams, before putting an end to the activity back at the meeting point at 6 pm.
