On this free tour of Mérida, we'll discover the rich monumental heritage that lies in the historic capital of Yucatán. Essential if you find yourself in the city!

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Montejo Museum-House to begin our free tour of Mérida. Are you ready to discover the charms of the capital of Yucatán?

Next to the Montejo House, we'll discover the details of this 16th-century construction. Did you know that it has been declared a Historical Monument due to its importance in the legacy of Mérida? There, we'll learn about the history of the Montejo family. We'll reveal some interesting details about this legendary lineage!

We'll continue our guided visit to Mérida in the middle of Plaza Grande Square, where we'll see the imposing façade of the Yucatán Cathedral. The gable wall of this church, consecrated to San Idelfonso, will reveal interesting things about the Spanish past of this city.

Next, we'll make a stop in front of the Government Palace of the State of Yucatán, a charming building built in an eclectic classical style. Very close by is the Gran Hotel de Mérida (Grand Hotel), one of the most famous hotels in the whole city. Do you want to discover why?

Afterwards, we'll make our way to the Parque de la Madre (Mother's Park), a very popular monument dedicated to motherhood. Just in front, we'll see the José Peón Contreras Theatre. Do you know what the main achievements of this Mexican individual were? You'll find out! The tour will then continue at the Parque de Santa Lucía Square, where we'll see 2 giant white benches. What are they used for?

After an enriching 2 hours, we'll bring our tour of Mérida to an end.
