After picking you up at your hotel in Mendoza between 7:30 am and 8 am, we will drive along National Route 7 to the Andean towns of Cacheuta and Potrerillos. At the latter, we will stop briefly to admire its huge reservoir nestled between mountains.
Back onboard the vehicle, we will regain our strength with some traditional empanadas from Mendoza and a tasty infusion, as we continue the journey to Vallecitos ski resort, in the heart of Cordón del Plata Provincial Park! From here, we will start a brilliant 6.5-hour trek of moderate difficulty, during which will reach a height of 12,600 feet above sea level.
We will hike through the stunning Quebrada de Arenales gorge until we reach the summits of Pico Andresito and Cerro Arenales. We will witness some of the amazing wildlife that is native to this area, before continuing our journey to the top of Cerro Lomas Blancas, where you will be rewarded with a wonderful panorama of the magnificent Cordón del Plata range. In this beautiful natural wilderness, we will stop for a delicious picnic lunch consisting of sandwiches or empanadas, fruit, alfajores, and other sweets.
After lunch, we will start the descent through the Morenas Coloradas valley. At 4 pm, our fabulous trek finishes back at the Vallecitos ski resort. From there, we will return by road to your hotel in Mendoza, arriving between 5:30 pm and 6 pm.
