Annual & Al Aaroui Day Trip

Having picked you up at 10 am from your hotel in Melilla, we'll set off for the border between Morocco and Spain, at Beni Ensar.

Once we've gone through the customs and security checks and we're in Moroccan territory, we'll drive for 45 minute until we get to Al Aaroui. When we get there, we'll visit the old Spanish water supply system. This construction allowed water to reach the Spanish army camp during the Rif War between Spain and the Rif Republic at the beginning of the 20th century.

Later, we'll continue exploring the history of this conflict by going to Annual, the site of the Battle of Annual. During this battle, Spain experienced one of its heaviest military defeats in modern Spanish history.

After walking through the streets of Annual and learning more about this battle, we'll set off back for Melilla. We'll then cross the border between Morocco and Spain and drop you off at your hotel at 2 pm.
