During the route, you can explore the different rooms at your own pace in this very important exhibition to learn about the history of Meissen's porcelain. You'll see incredible monumental sculptures, cups of tea, plates, vases and many other decorated pieces of great elegance.
As you explore, you'll discover the history of this firm thanks to the informative panels and audiovisual documents. You'll learn why it's influenced by the East and about its links with royalty. In addition, you'll uncover the biography of Johann Friedrich Böttger, a renowned alchemist and inventory of porcelain in Meissen.
As well as access to Meissen's Porcelain Museum, you'll also have access to its workshops. Here, you can see in person how these valuable pieces of art are produced, from the potter's wheel to the painting. Additionally, this part of the exhibition includes an audio guide in English. The Meissen's Porcelain Museum and workshops are open Monday - Sunday at the following hours:
- January-March: 9 - 5 pm
- April-December: 9 am - 6 pm
- 31st December and 1st January: 10 am - 4 pm
