Private Day Trips from Medellin

  • 5 reviews | 131 travellers
The excursion was good but most of the churches were closed but it was a good time. The only thing I can complain about is that the tour said it included lunch but it didn't say how much it would cost and while we were there we had to pay a difference of money because it was up to $20,000 pesos per dish, although it wasn't much that we had to pay as a difference, but I understand that they should notify this in the description beforehand.

Below, you can see the particularities of each excursion:

Day Trip to Guatapé

Embark on a journey from Medellín to Guatapé, renowned as one of the most picturesque villages in Colombia. Upon reaching this charming Antioquian town, our adventure begins with ascending the 740 steps of the Piedra del Peñol, a famous stone monolith towering 700 meters high (2,300 feet). The climb is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Guatapé reservoir.

Having soaked in the views, we'll proceed to the town center to explore the historic charm of Guatapé. Highlights include strolling along the street of the Parasols and immersing ourselves in the vibrant Plaza de los Zócalos. This excursion mirrors the route of our tour of Guatapé.

Day Trip to Santa Fe de Antioquia

Starting our journey north from Medellín, we'll make a brief stop in San Jeronimo, recognized as the cocoa land, before advancing to Santa Fe de Antioquia. This enchanting town offers the fun activity of walking across the suspension bridge over the Cauca River, followed by a stroll through its historical district. Here, we'll marvel at an array of colonial houses dating back to the XVI, XVII, and XVIII centuries.

Our guided tour of Santa Fe, one of the Network of Heritage Towns of Colombia, will include visits to its prominent temples. Notable among them are the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Church of Santa Barbara.

Day Trip to La Ceja, El Carmen, Marinilla and Rionegro

Departing from Medellín, our journey unfolds as we embark on a captivating tour through some the most charming towns in Antioquia. Our first destination is La Ceja, where the magnificent 20-meter (65-foot) Salto del Tequendamita waterfall awaits. Following this awe-inspiring spectacle, we'll proceed to the town of El Carmen de Viboral, renowned as the birthplace of handmade pottery in the region.

The route then leads us to Marinilla, a picturesque municipality steeped in historical significance due to past battles. After delving into the origins of these events, our path takes us to Rionegro. In this scenic Antioquian town, we'll encounter notable monuments, including the co-cathedral of San Nicolas.

Day Trip to a coffee farm in Santa Elena

For this occasion, we'll meet you at the designated meeting point in Medellín, and together, we'll journey to a coffee farm in Santa Elena. At this authentic Colombian hacienda, we'll unravel the intricate process of selecting, roasting, and grinding coffee beans.

Following the farm tour, a delightful experience awaits as we indulge in an exquisite tasting of Colombian coffee. Immerse your palate in a real treat as we savor different varieties during this enjoyable session!
