Discover the urban art culture of Medellin on this graffivan (graffiti-van) tour of Comuna 13. We'll discover a different side of this Colombian city!
Comuna 13 Street Art Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Parque del Poblado to start our street art tour of Medellin and discover the most colorful side of the city. We'll even board a van decorated with graffiti (graffivan)!
We'll then head out to visit Comuna 13, once considered one of the most dangerous areas of Medellin. However, on this tour, you'll see how urban art has been the key to the transformation of the commune's drug trafficking and criminal past.
The first stop will be in an area where artists perform improvisations on cultural and current affairs - you'll fall in love with their songs and poems! Our tour will then take us to see the graffiti located on what were the first escalators in Colombia. With its six sections, they are positioned as one of the world's longest escalators located in a neighborhood.
Throughout the walk, we'll become immersed in the story behind this street art which does not speak of violence, but of hope and a bright future for Medellin and, above all, a message of peace from Comuna 13 to the world.
Before we finish, we'll visit the Casa de Neón, a place that creates a unique experience with paint and light, the perfect spot for a photo!
At the end of the tour, we'll return to the initial meeting point after 4 hours.
