La Noria Mezcal Tour
Tour Details
At 9 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Mazatlán, from where we'll head towards La Noria. Did you know that this area in the south of Sinaloa is known for its mezcal production?
We'll visit this small town, famous for being the centre of the La Noria Revolution, a prominent political-military movement that confronted President Benito Juárez in 1871. We will pass by its most iconic sites, including the church, central plaza, and cemetery. We'll even stop by a local restaurant to try some local products. After learning about its history, we'll visit the hacienda Los Osuna, which became the second most important mezcal producer in Mexico.
We'll learn a lot of interesting facts about the cultivation of the agave or maguey plant and the production of mezcal. For example, did you know that these old farms were called 'vinatas' and that they have been in operation since the 19th century?
We'll also see the distillates produced in this vinata, which have won several awards, and we'll take the opportunity to taste these liqueurs.
Finally, we'll take you back to Mazatlan, where we'll arrive around 3 pm.
