Sunrise or Sunset Trip to the Haleakalā Volcano
Sunrise or Sunset Trip to the Haleakalā Volcano
When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from the two trips detailed below. They both start and end at your hotel in Maui and include an English-speaking guide and admission to this national park.
Haleakalā Sunrise Trip (9 hours 30 minutes)
Did you know that Haleakalā means House of the Sun? From the name alone, it's clear that watching the sunrise here is a unique experience. After picking you up from your hotel at the scheduled time, we'll set off for this volcano in the middle of the night.
We'll make our way through the sea of clouds and head up Haleakalā, a dormant volcano that was formed around a million years ago. As we admire the scenery, we'll discuss the sacred value that this place has long held for Polynesians.
Once we've reached the summit of Haleakalā, we'll wait for nature to work its magic. The sun will then begin to appear and cast its gentle rays over the volcanoes' peaks and the clouds.
Before we return to your hotel, we'll have breakfast at a lodge while admiring a fantastic view of Maui's coastline.
Haleakalāal Sunset Trip (7 hours)
If you'd prefer to watch a sunset instead of a sunrise, this tour is perfect for you. Our itinerary will be similar to the previous activity, but it'll take place in the evening.
We'll get to the Haleakalā National Park during the daytime to watch the sun as it begins to set over the horizon. As there'll still be some daylight, we'll admire the area's plant life. You'll see flora such as silversword plants, which are unique to this area. Afterwards, you'll relax and take in the sight of an unforgettable sunset.
