At the appointed time we'll meet at the meeting point and set off on this sightseeing tour of Matera, where we'll pass by the main attractions of this beautiful city in the Basilicata region.
Throughout the tour, you'll be provided with an audio guide in Italian and English with commentary that will tell you about the history of Matera, as well as interesting information about the monuments you'll see.
We'll pass by such iconic places as the Tramontano Castle, located on the hill of Lapillo, the Palazzo Lanfranchi, home of the National Museum of Medieval and Modern Art of Basilicata, or the Municipal Villa.
Our tour of Matera will also take us to Barisano, one of the famous Sassi of Matera. From the vehicle we'll see the buildings carved into the rock, such as the church of the Madonna delle Virtú or the church of San Pietro Caveoso, two of the most important places in this part of the city.
Finally, we'll see the Alvino 1884, a complex that functions as a hotel and event hall, and the sculpture park La Palomba, an initiative of the artist Antonio Paradiso.
Then we'll end our tour by returning to the starting point after a two-hour visit.
