Discover the colonial treasures of a beautiful municipality surrounded by mountains with this guided tour of Mascota. You'll love learning about its history!
Mascota Guided Tour
At the time of your choice, we'll meet on Calle Libertad, where we'll begin an interesting guided tour of Mascota, a 'Magical Town' of Jalisco.
First, we'll walk through the main square to get to know the nerve center of town, its Mudéjar-style kiosk, the Municipal Palace and the surrounding colonial buildings.
Next, we'll stop in front of the Church of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, where we'll admire its preserved 18th-century Baroque portico and its three-bodied tower crowned by a cross.
We'll also have the opportunity to enter the Archaeological Museum to admire a unique collection of pre-Hispanic pieces found at the site of El Pantano. The tribes that inhabited this enclave are the oldest in the area and the least known!
Continuing on, we'll visit the unfinished Temple of the Precious Blood, the ruins of an incomplete church that was to be built in the 1800s. We'll check out its grandiloquent walls, a small chapel with images of the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, Mary Magdalene and Christ Crucified, as well as its manicured gardens, which serve as a stage for orchestras and plays.
After exploring for two hours, the tour will end at the starting point.
Visit to the Archaeological Museum
