On our Sormiou Calanque Hiking Activity from Marseille, we'll walk to one of the largest and most spectacular coves found in the Calanques National Park.
Sormiou Calanque Hiking Activity
At the scheduled time, we'll start our hiking route from the Chemin de Morgiou car park. From there, we'll set off for the Sormiou creek: one of the most outstanding natural jewels in the Calanques National Park.
During this 3-mile (5-kilometre) hike, we'll take a path through a beautiful scrub forest on our way to the Sormiou Ridge. From this steep and rocky outcrop, we'll look out at breathtaking views of the nearby massif, the Mediterranean Sea and the city of Marseille.
Our route will then work its way down to the cove of Sormiou, where we'll visit its small fishing village and paradisiacal beach. If you'd like, you can take a refreshing swim in the turquoise water around this charming cove.
After this well-deserved dip, we'll set off on our return journey. We'll follow a new route through the nature, history and culture of the Calanques National Park, which has become one of the most important protected areas in south-eastern France.
We'll then return to the starting point three and a half hours after our departure and finish our hiking activity. See you next time!
