Sault Lavender Tour
Sault Lavender Tour
The tour starts at 8 am when you meet your friendly guide in Marseille. We'll set off in the comfort of our minivan and enjoy the picturesque views of Provence as you drive into the heart of the region.
Our first destination of the day is Pays de Sault, where lavender and lavandin are grown and distilled.
Arriving in the village of Sault (known as the "capital of lavender") you can enjoy some free time for your lunch and to wander and visit the lavender shops. Take the opportunity to taste local Provencal specialities like the nougat produced in the village with lavender honey and almonds or try some lavender ice-cream.
Next on our lavender tour is a visit to a local lavender producer during the distillation period. You'll learn all about the expertise employed in producing fine lavender essential oils.
Leaving Sault, be prepared for the amazing views of the lavender fields. Get your camera ready as your guide will take you to a great spot for a photo!
Next up is a famous Luberon village. Known as one of "the most beautiful villages in France", Gordes is perched high up in the Luberon. Admire its castle protecting the typical dry-stone houses of the village below.
After your visit to Gordes, it's time for the drive back to Marseille. You will end your tour with an appreciation of the beauty of Provence, its landscape, culture and villages.
You will arrive back in Marseille at 6 pm.
