Explore the beautiful region of southeastern France with this Provence day trip from Marseille. Visit Les Baux de Provence, the Pont du Gard, Avignon, and enjoy a wine tasting at Châteauneuf du Pape.
Provence Day Trip
We'll meet at the designated time at the Radisson Blu Hotel entrance in Marseille and board a minibus to the interior of Provence.
Our first stop will be Les Baux de Provence, a medieval fortress built on a massif in the middle of the Alpilles mountain range. Here you'll enjoy some free time before continuing with the excursion.
Our next destination will be the Pont du Gard, known worldwide as the best-preserved Roman aqueduct. With its three floors and more than 40 metres (130 feet) high, it's still surprising how such a structure could be built at that time. It'll leave you speechless!
The tour will continue to Avignon, where you'll have free time to have lunch and, if you wish, visit the Papal Palace and the famous Saint Bénezet bridge, also known as Pont d'Avignon, among other must-sees in this picturesque Provencal town.
The last stop on this tour of Provence will be a winery in Châteauneuf du Pape to taste its famous wine. But not before taking a panoramic walk through the beautiful vineyards that surround the village.
The tour will end back at the starting point of Marseille after a total of 11.5 hours.
