Maputo Guided Tour
Description
At the time of your choice, we'll meet next to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, from where we'll head to Praça da Independência. In this square, we'll find the Statue of Samora Machel, considered the father of the independence of Mozambique.
Next, we'll walk past the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center and the Casa de Ferro, two locations where we'll learn about the country's history. Afterwards, we'll learn about the local culture as we explore the Tunduru Gardens and the Central Market, where we'll take the opportunity to discover some of the country's typical products.
Our tour will continue towards Maputo Central Railway Station. On the way, we'll also see the capital's first Mosque. Does the station seem familiar to you? That may be because it was one of the filming locations for the movie Blood Diamond!
The last stop of our tour will be at the Fortress of Maputo. We'll take the time to admire its walls and talk about the strategic function it had in the past.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point after an insightful, 3-hour tour.
