Visit to the Tatuyo Indigenous Village
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Manaus, where we'll begin a journey toward the Indigenous community of Tatuyo. During the journey, you'll admire the lush, typical vegetation of the region of the Amazonas.
Once we arrive, we'll be greeted by the inhabitants of the tribe, who will welcome us into a local riverside house. Here, you'll have the chance to experience a cultural immersion, where you'll learn about their lifestyle and connection to nature. You'll learn all about their customs and beliefs!
We'll embark on a journey to explore the stunning flooded forests called igapós. You'll sail among the copious bushes and trees that seem to float in the water. We'll also discover how this unique ecosystem is home to one of the richest biodiversities in South America.
Later, we'll participate in the Indigenous village's traditional fishing. We'll explain how these rudimentary fishing tools work and show you the ancestral techniques to fish. You'll also have the opportunity to capture a pirarucu. Did you know it's one of the largest fish in the world?
Our adventure will continue with diving into the river to swim in the area where you'll find the pink river dolphins. If you're lucky, you might see these special cetaceans! After such an unforgettable experience, we'll return to dry land to enjoy a typical lunch with the tribe as we share the anecdotes of the day.
Finally, we'll begin our return to Manaus, where we'll say our goodbyes by dropping you off at your hotel 10 hours after pickup.
