Gramvousa & Balos Lagoon Excursion
Gramvousa & Balos Lagoon Excursion
We'll meet at the indicated time in Malia. From there, we'll head west until we reach Skaleta, a small town where we'll make a stop for some breakfast.
With our batteries charged and ready to go, we'll make our way to Kissamos, where we will board a boat to take us to the island of Gramvousa. As we approach, it will be hard not to admire this island's natural beauty, also known as 'Pirates Island.' From the boat, we'll also witness a peculiar geological phenomenon unique to Gramvousa: the simultaneous lifting and sinking of both sides of the island.
Once we step foot on Gramvousa, we'll visit the Venetian fortress and uncover the island's history of pirates. We'll also take the opportunity to enjoy impressive views of the natural beauty of the surrounding area from this vantage point. A great spot for photos!
And of course, we can't leave Gramvousa without relaxing on its heavenly beaches! You'll have plenty of free time to take a dip in crystalline waters, explore the famous shipwreck and bask in the sun.
In the afternoon, the group will return to the boat to visit Balos Lagoon. Reminiscent of an exotic beach in the Caribbean, it's no surprise that Balos is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete! Here, you will enjoy more free time to soak up the sun and enjoy paradise, before we head back to our starting point.
The tour will end after a total of 16 hours.
