At 8 am we will pick you up from your hotel in Malia. We’ll hop on a jeep and head towards the south of Crete. Mountains, charming villages and dreamlike beaches are waiting for us, are you ready?
Our first destination will be the village of Agios Myronas, a perfect place to delve into the history of the island. Here we’ll also learn stories and legends about the healing properties of the holy water in Agios Myronas.
We’ll continue exploring the island until we reach Prinias. In this small village we will visit the Rakokazano and learn about the process of making raki, a traditional alcoholic beverage. And of course, we can’t leave without trying it, so we’ll have a tasting raki along with local homemade sweets.
Next stop: the foothills of Asterousia Mountain! We'll climb 800 meters (2625 ft) to enjoy the amazing natural landscape of Crete from above. It's a view you'll never forget.
We will take on the imposing gorges of Asterousia to reach a magical place: Trypitis Beach. While admiring the southern coast of Crete, we'll recover our strength with a delicious meal, consisting of a main course, salad, and dessert.
How could we leave Trypitis without taking a swim? You can take a dip in the crystal clear waters before continuing the tour.
Our last destination on this safari tour will be Agios Thomas, where we will visit Roman tombs and Byzantine churches. Lastly, we'll head back and drop you off at your hotel in Malia around 4 pm.
