3 Day Tour of Mount Bromo & Ijen Volcano
Description
Day 1: Malang - Mount Bromo
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel or at Malang airport, whichever you'd prefer. We'll then make our way towards Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, where we'll be staying.
You'll have the rest of the day free so that you can wander through the green areas that surround the hotel. Have dinner and head to bed soon after as the following day will be an intense one!
Day 2: Mount Bromo - Bondowoso
We'll get up at 3 am and hop in a 4x4 that will bring us to Mount Penanjakan. There, we'll see an incredible sunrise over Mount Bromo, and while we wait for nature to work its magic, we can sip on a nice warm coffee.
Afterwards, we'll cross the sea sand plain and then begin making our way to the crater of Mount Bromo. Did you know that this volcano of more than 2,300 metres (7,545 feet) is actually active? We'll share many curious facts surrounding the formation of this volcano as we admire its crater and the views of Semeru, the highest point on the Island of Java.
We'll see the Hindu temple, and after, pause for some breakfast at a nearby restaurant. With renewed energy, we'll make our way towards Bondowoso, making a stop once more for lunch. You'll have the evening free in this local town located in the foothills of the Ijen volcano, where we'll spend the night.
Day 3: Bondowoso - Ijen Volcano - Malang
The final day of the tour will start with an early morning rise as we make our way towards the Ijen volcano. We'll have breakfast in the form of a small picnic as we walk, and once we've reached our destination, we'll go on a night-time trek of around an hour until we arrive at the crater just before sunrise.
Are you ready to witness the blue fire of the Ijen volcano? You'll be able to see how, in the middle of nowhere, these flashing lights begin to appear as sulphuric gases and oxygen react with one another.
Finally, our journey back to Malang will begin. We'll make a stop for lunch, and we'll arrive at our destination between 4 pm and 5 pm
