Caminito del Rey Day Trip
Caminito del Rey Day Trip
We'll meet at Avenida de Andalucía, at the bus stop 2009, and board a minibus that'll take us northwest through the beautiful inland countryside of the province of Malaga.
During the journey, we'll cross the Alcaparaín mountain range and see extensive orange groves and several Andalusian white villages. We'll make a quick half-hour stop in the village of Ardales so you can stretch your legs or have a snack on your own.
For approximately 3 hours, we'll walk around 4.8 km (3 miles) along the Caminito del Rey from the northern access located in Ardales, crossing several tunnels. Did you know that it was first opened by King Alfonso XIII in 1925? During the hike, we'll admire the Guadalhorce reservoir and go down the most famous stairs of the Caminito del Rey.
The Caminito del Rey tour will start by discovering the geology, the wildlife, and the spectacular landscapes that surround us. The footbridge, suspended almost 340 ft (105 meters) above the Gaitanes Gorge, will offer us incredible panoramic views of the Sierra de Málaga. We'll take around 2.5-3 hours to walk the whole route. As we walk, we'll stop at the best viewpoints to take photos and learn some fun facts about this place.
After enjoying the Caminito del Rey, we'll say goodbye to this beautiful place and finish the excursion at the starting point.
