Antequera Dolmens & El Torcal Day Trip
At 8:30 am, we'll meet up on Calle San Rafael in Malaga and head to the outskirts of Antequera to visit the Dolmens of Viera and Menga and the El Torcal Nature Reserve.
To begin, we'll visit the Dolmens of Viera and Menga. This megalithic complex is over 6,000 years old! We'll tell you all about this fantastic archaeological site, which is a World Heritage Site and also one of the earliest examples of prehistoric monumental architecture in Europe.
Next, we'll go to the Tholos del Romeral. After visiting this second prehistoric site, we'll move on to the El Torcal de Antequera Nature Reserve. This magnificent karst landscape, which has also been declared a World Heritage Site, will leave you speechless.
You'll then be dropped off in the historic centre of Antequera at 1:30 pm. Here, you'll be able to get some lunch and explore this city at your leisure. Before saying our goodbyes, we'll give you a tourist map of the city and a bus ticket so you can make your own way back to Malaga. All you'll need to do is hop on the public bus that'll leave Antequera at 5:15 pm.
