Pompeii Tour
Description
We'll depart from the selected meeting point towards Pompeii, the Roman city that was buried by the wrath of Vesuvius. Ready to uncover its history and explore its site?
Upon arrival, we'll take a complete tour of the ruins of Pompeii. For this, we'll go back to the year 79 AD, specifically to August 24, the day on which Emperor Titus received the terrible news that Vesuvius had erupted, affecting Stabiae, Herculaneum and, of course, Pompeii.
We'll tour the remains of this city buried under ash and pumice rock for 1,700 years, and learn what life was like before the eruption of the volcano. We'll see the Roman baths, the bakeries, the forum, the House of the Vetti and the famous lupanar, decorated with frescoes of erotic scenes.
Whatsmore we'll see the most recent discoveries of these excavations, such as statues, skeletons or tools used by the inhabitants of Pompeii until their lives were frozen in time by the volcanic ash.
After a 3-hour guided tour of Pompeii, we'll leave you some free time to have a tasty lunch in a local restaurant. And finally, we'll end the tour by returning to the starting point after 10 hours of sightseeing.
