The Path of the Lemons Hike
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Corso Reginna in Maiori. There, we'll start our hiking route along The Path of the Lemons, a panoramic road with breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast.
To start the route in the best way possible, we'll enter a pastry shop to taste a lemon dessert typical of the area. Full of energy, we'll be ready to climb up to the church of Santa Maria a Mare, dating back to the 12th century, and admire its great dome from the outside.
Along the way, we'll see the typical terraces, called macerine, where the lemon trees grow, cultivated according to the traditional agricultural technique. We'll also see some Roman ruins framed by the typical Mediterranean vegetation, such as olive trees, vineyards and pine trees.
After a short break for a freshly made homemade lemonade, we'll continue the route until we reach the village of Torre, where the church of San Michele Arcangelo stands out. Did you know that this is where the majority of lemons are produced?
Having listened to the history of this small village, we'll take the path to Minori. As we walk towards the village, we'll be able to see the bell tower of the Basilica of Santa Trofimena, the patron saint of the village. The history of her relics will leave you speechless!
It will be right in front of this church, in Piazza Ettore e Gaetano Cantilena, where we'll say our goodbyes and conclude the activity after about 2.5 to 3 hours of walking.
