Tour Options
When booking, you'll be able to choose between the following scuba diving tours in Mahahual. Both include transport by boat, a certified English-speaking instructor, scuba diving equipment, snacks and water. Below, you can see the details of each option.
Scuba Diving with 1 Immersion (2 hours)
After meeting at the diving centre located at Blue Kay in Mahahual at the indicated time, we'll ask you to show us your scuba diving certificates. Once everything's in order, we'll make our way towards the boat and sail out to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. Did you know that it's the second largest in the world?
After receiving instructions and putting on our equipment, we'll board the boat to set sail and make our way along the barrier reef of the Costa Maya. In this paradise, we'll have the opportunity to explore up to 6 underwater landscapes.
Once ready, we'll dive in groups of 5 with the instructor. These waters will give us a privileged visibility of 25 metres (82 feet), and sometimes even up to 35 metres (114 feet). What more could you want?
Scuba Diving with 2 Immersions (3 hours & 50 minutes)
Are you looking for an even more exciting diving experience? In this option, we'll do 2 immersions. We'll spend more time in the water and have the opportunity to swim with the playful tropical fish in the coral reefs.
We'll board the boat and follow the route described in the previous section, but we'll be able to take a closer look at the marine flora and fauna. With a visibility of up to 35 metres (114 feet), we'll see manta rays, crabs, lobsters, barracudas, angelfish, wrasse, damselfish, parrotfish and butterflyfish. Curious names, aren't they? You'll find out why!
Once we've used up the first oxygen tank, we'll go back to the boat to install the second one. Once we're ready to go again, we'll dive back down to make the most of our second dive at Costa Maya.

Depending on your chosen tour, please note the following starting times:
- 1 immersion: daily at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm
- 2 immersions: daily at 9 am, 11 am and 1 pm
