Toledo Day Trip + Wine Tasting
We'll meet at Julio Camba Street in Madrid at 9 am and set off for Toledo, the City of Three Cultures. During the one hour journey, we'll reveal the historical importance of this location where Christians, Muslims and Jews lived together.
Once in Toledo, we'll climb to the Valley Viewpoint to enjoy the views of the city. After taking photos up here, we'll wander around its narrow medieval street and learn why this city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The guide will reveal the important historical episodes that took place in the "Imperial City". Walking through the centre of Toledo, we'll arrive at the San Juan de Los Reyes monastery.
During the guided tour of Toledo, we'll visit the Jewish quarter, the church of Santo Tomé, which houses the burial of Count Ordaz, and the Santa María la Blanca synagogue - real architectural gems!
Then, you'll have free time to continue exploring the city on your own. You can make the most of your time by visiting the Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz, the Iglesia de los Jesuitas, the Iglesia del Salvador and the Real Colegio de Doncellas Nobles, as you'll have an entrance fee to all included.
Later, we'll go to a wine cellar to learn first-hand about the process of making the quintessential La Mancha drink. We'll taste 3 wines, one white and two red, accompanied by an expert. Feeling the aromas, tasting the nuances, and distinguishing the types of wine is a unique experience. In addition, the tasting will be accompanied by some tapas from the region, like chorizo, cheese and sausage and a tasting of oils.
Afterwards, will end the tour by returning to Madrid at approximately 6 pm.
